Wishing You a Heathy New Year!

Spread the love

I know that Happy New Year wishes are probably said automatically and for the most done with the best intentions.   Nothing against that, but this year it is better to ring out Healthy New Year!

You see Covid couldn’t less that the calendar has changed!  All it cares about is finding new vectors(like you) to survive.

This is where your own personal responsibility comes into play to not only help yourself but the rest of the world!!!

Happiness is not possible if you become sick or a loved one dies of Covid.

Covid has already mutated somewhat which is to be expected.   After all, with over 83 million and steadily climbing infections; that is already a heck of a lot of replications it has accomplished.

If you had to copy a long sequence of RNA on a sheet of paper even a hundred times, you would definitely goof up here and there.

Covid has to get its sequence right most of the time to keep it circulating or it is a dead duck.  But it can’t replicate without you!

It has to adapt and outsmart any reoccurring obstacles it finds along its treacherous way infecting millions.   Viruses are extremely skilled in doing just that.

Scientists have already noted this in the so-called British variant, which is more contagious!  There will probably be others too.

This is where you come in!  You have a chance to be an important part of a global effort to save lives.

This new year, we have a new weapon to slow down this cruel circulation by getting vaccinated!

Keeping your mask on and social distancing are your best bets to help, even after being vaccinated!   Not doing so is a lack of respect for your fellow human being!

As usual, there will be the anti vaccinators, just like we have the anti maskers.   Some have already decided to blemish the new vaccine as not providing “enough” coverage to the mutants.

Fortunately, none of the mutants can hide from the antibodies the vaccine will create in your body.  We have a global chance my friends to stop or slow down this cruel circulation by getting vaccinated!

Then there are those who still don’t believe Covid is really real.  Forget about convincing them, if they haven’t seen enough proof already.

There are some who feel getting the vaccine would only serve to deepen the pockets of those big pharma folks.

QAnon cult believers have propagated their convictions around worldwide deep state Darth Vaders who they are convinced unleashed the virus in the first place, so as to enrich their already brimming pots of gold by selling a panacea.

Others won’t take the vaccines, because they believe it is a plot to implant a microchip.

Not much you can do about those either.  Well, that leaves you!  Again, you can help make a dent in stopping the circulation of Covid by getting vaccinated.

Not only can you help save your life, but millions of other human beings.  We all have to do our part for the common good.

So, while you are making plans to eat better and exercise more, please put getting vaccinated against Covid a priority.

You might personally save some family from losing a loved one and a lifetime of grief!

After all, there can’t be any happiness without Health!

Blessings of health, love, and joy to each of you!

  1. Cherry, Thank you for another year of beautiful and meaningful observations about the very important and meaningful experiences that we all have. You have a very wonderful and decidedly unique way of explaining life and its meaning while still being grounded and real. Gay and I enjoy your posts and look forward to another year of them in 2021, a year that will certainly be better than 2020.
    God Bless! John Morris

    1. Thank you John for all your kind words! I do indeed appreciate your comments! It is difficult to be grounded with all the misery around us, because it makes me sad and I would rather be forever optimistic.
I hope you will return to traveling again soon when we feel safer to do so! Blessings of heath, joy, and love to you and Gay.

  2. Dear Cherry,
You are absolutely right and I cannot understand all these who are calling this serious reality in question.
Bonne année 2021 et excellente santé
    Cordialement
    Georges

    1. Un grand Merci George pour ton commentaire et aussi pour tous les autres dans la passe! J’espère que tu et ta famille aurait la bonne santé tout l’année. Joy and Hugs

  3. Wise words, Cherry. Thanks for this post. I could not agree with you more on all the points you made. Among all the usual resolutions, which I invariably fail to keep, is the resolution to do everything I can to make 2021 Covid-free for me and my family and friends.

Today in Austin it is raining heavily and expected to do so throughout the day. It’s miserably cold. What an apt end, I thought, to a miserable year!

Hoping for sunshine tomorrow. Take care.

    1. Thank you Gary for your comment! I don’t believe in making resolutions, just continue to plod along towards my wishes and goals. Your voiced determination to protect yourself and your family is the best and most honorable!
I usually think Austin is blessed with sunny and warm weather, so I hope the cold will pass soon.
Health and joy to you GAry

  4. Wishing you and everyone else the best for the new year. The “non-believers” are utterly beyond comprehension to me. We have some friends from CA who flew to New Orleans yesterday for their New Year “celebration” . . . that is rather inconceivable to me, esp. since N.O. seems to have put strict limitations on almost everything.

Unfortunately I anticipate that 2021 will be harder overall than 2020. It is taking a long time to get the vaccines out and people vaccinated. Most probably will not be vaccinated until the latter part of 2021 at best. The falling domino effect of the economic crash is just in the early stages; the real impact will worsen throughout 2021 and the supplemental aid will have been virtually exhausted. The government’s “printing and passing out free money” will certainly create significant devaluation of the U.S. dollar. That is all just the realities of the situation. However, the “god news” is that like everything this will all pass in time; things will just be a little different for most people; but we will adapt and things will return to a new normalcy . . . and life will continue on.

Everyone just needs to do their part to try to escalate moderating the viruses and promoting recovery. This is a historically unique “challenge” for our nation and mankind. People who ignore or refuse to do their part are a big part of the problems. The rest of us can only try to do our best to adapt to whatever is needed.

    1. I would add to my comment that we have had rather terrific weather in south fForida for the holidays. It has been balmy comfortable high 70’s – 81-82 degrees the last several days. And there has been a relatively large number of tourists. Yesterday on the news they were showing the crowds of people at South Beach in Miami Beach and on the Hollywood beach walk where we often go. Thee was probably only about 50% or a little more of the usual tourist crowds. Unfortunately MOST of them were NOT wearing facial masks or social distancing. Lots of them were northerners or westerners, some of whom will probably have contracted the Covid virus and will take it home with them. (Yesterday Florida had an all time high of 17,200 new cases of the virus in our state.) Now there are more and more people whom we know who are contracting the virus; that’s a little scary for those in our age bracket . . . Ha! But only know a few who have wound up in the hospital so far.

So, be safe and take care of yourself. Life will eventually return to some normalcy; we just have to bear through it all until then. Best wishes. Enjoy your blogs, esp. the pics.

      1. David, what you describe is a portrait of incredible irresponsible behavior in light of the danger they submit themselves to, and to others, they will return to. How sad for the residents that the government is not helping the situation by preventing this in the first place. It makes things even more difficult for you to keep safe with all the continuous influx of tourists. No wonder the states are unable to control infection rates! France has been able to lower rates again with confinement, curfews, closing bars and restaurants, cultural venues, and gyms etc. This is possible because the government does help workers and business owners who did have to close.

    2. Thank you David for sharing your generous thoughts that are always insightful. Although we have hope of this new year being less difficult, I agree that keeping up protection and vigilance until we get the vaccine and then afterward, there will not be a return to normalcy, any time soon. So we have to persist and persevere and carve out whatever joy we can glean in living.

    My Dear Cherry,
Thank you for this message and I do hope everyone does get vaccinated. This conspiracy that some people believe in is just insane. This virus must be stopped.
On a personal, sad note, I lost my wife to complications of Diabetes. She struggled with it for 66 years. We knew each other for a long time. We went to kindergarten together.
The best of the New Year to you.

    1. Isham, you have been a champion of good cheer for many, even when you did not feet well! I pray that you will have complete health; free of any sickness in the months to come. Many Hugs!
