Actually , the word supermoon was coined by an astrologer Richard Nolle to describe what astronomists call a perigee. A perigee is a moon that falls the closest to earth in its orbit around the earth. Last night’s will be closest to earth, that any full moon will get this year.
Because it is nearer, it will appear to the human eye as much larger than normal. Additionally, the gravitational pull of this supermoon will have a greater impact on earth.
Thanks to this supermoon, the tides all over the earth, starting on the 22nd of June and for several days after, will be the highest and provide the greatest variation between the highest and lowest tides of the year. If you live or are vacationing on the coast, you will be able to experience this visually.
If there are strong coastal storms at the same time in your area, then this could be a cause of concern, as flooding could be possible. Otherwise, it will be time for the oceans to embrace the beaches to the fullest.
Last night, I was looking at this beautiful golden moon from the deck of a cruise ship in the Adriatic sea sailing towards Dubrovnik, Croatia. Soaking up sunshine and moonbeams wherever I can is a pursuit that has always brought me much joy.
Ever since I was a little girl, the moon has been a source of enchantment and mystery. Perhaps rightfully so, as the moon’s energy is feminine in nature. Alchemists see the moon as being prima materia for that reason, as all of creation is brought to fullness through maternal sources.
With the summer solstice just being experienced and now with this supermoon, this uniting of the male and female energies will be one of the highest of the years. Therefore all endeavors started at this time have a wonderful chance to be brought to fruition.
Now is a time to bring your dreams into reality, however wild or even improbable. In the universe, creation is constantly taking place, so why not take advantage of these propitious energies to help you along.
In other words, now is the time to stir the cosmic pot, as I like to say, and let the winds and sources of nature match in the physical world the crystallization of your dreams.

Lighting candles draws the source of the Spirit to witness our attentions. Illumination at this time mirrors the intense strength of our sun, which is at the fullest and is likewise reflected by our special moon.
You never know what you can accomplish or what you can bring about, unless you give it a go. Efforts do not have to be monumental either. Right now you have a tail wind so to speak, to help you sail forth with your intentions and dreams into the cosmic stratosphere of creation.

We are all a part of this universe and because we are also subject to natural laws of nature, we can also take advantage of this high energy push at this time. For me, spirituality is seeing ourselves as part of and having an individual experience with the powerful source of divine creation, that I choose to call God.
